Privacy
Two buckets: stuff that never leaves your device unless your browser talks to someone else (normal hosting logs), and stuff we might collect later if you ask to be notified about the waitlist. No fine print required to get the idea—details below.
01 Stays on your device
Scout badges, the tycoon save, cookie preferences, plant-quiz cookies (if you allow them), garden planner exports, and small UI state live in your browser. This site’s static code does not send that data to a Johnny Autoseed server—we don’t run one for that in this repo.
Your host (e.g. Cloudflare) can still log page requests like any website. That’s not the same as a marketing database; it’s how HTTPS sites work.
To wipe local state: use Clear site data on the transparency page.
02 Waitlist & “notify me”
The homepage Join the waitlist button opens a dialog. Until we wire a real backend or external form, the email field and checkboxes are not sent anywhere—no list, no CRM. When we turn that on, we’ll use a processor (for example a form vendor or our own API) and name it here.
When an external signup link is enabled: The dialog may link to a hosted form (for example Google Forms). Your submission is handled by that provider under their terms; we list them as a subprocessor below and in the transparency page when that link is live. We won’t use your email for a different purpose than described at signup without updating this page.
Subprocessors (waitlist). None active for waitlist yet. When we enable a hosted form, we will name the processor (for example Google LLC for Google Forms), what fields we ask for, and link to the provider’s privacy policy where helpful.
Retention & unsubscribe. Until we run a list, we don’t retain waitlist addresses. When a list exists, we will state how long we keep interest signups and how to withdraw (for example a link in the first email or a contact address below).
